Merri Creek PS (VIC) are Born to Knit!

Merri Creek Primary School in Melbourne are Born to Knit!

We got an email from Jenny at Merri Creek PS, who told us about all the amazing efforts of the Merri Creek PS community! Students and families from Merri Creek have been busy knitting squares and sewing knitted squares together. The school has already collected 178 squares this year- a very impressive effort! And the chart at the school showing how many blankets the school has collected continues to climb!

After being involved with Born to Knit last year, many people at Merri Creek PS were excited about getting invovled with the campaign again, especially some of the grandmothers- who have taken to the knitting with enthusiasm!

Thanks to everyone at Merri Creek PS for your efforts! We’re excited to receive your creations, and look forward to distributing your blankets to children in need.  Happy knitting all!

Is your school knitting for Born to Knit? We’d love to hear from you! Send us your story at borntoknit@savethechildren.org.au

    Hi BTK team!
I love all of the posts on the blog -it is great to see young and not so young getting involved (these beautiful children bought such a smile to my face!)
I do have to ask a question…..a few weeks ago I went into the Victoria Parade office (as I did two BTK campaigns ago) to drop off two bags of blankets but there didn\’t seem to be a way to get in so I left them in the foyer near the lifts where I figured someone from STC would pick them up. Someone has mentioned to me today that it may not have been the address where you\’re meant to leave them and I am concerned that I have caused inconvenience to your team. Can you please confirm where the squares and blankets are to be left so that I can ensure the next lot are delivered safe and sound to their correct place?
    Thanks, Mel

    • Hi Mel,
Thanks for your lovely message! Yes, it’s great when the little ones get involved, and the students at Merri Creek are doing a great job! We have received the bags you left at the Victoria Parade office, so don’t fret! The Victoria Parade office is a drop-off point, simply take the lift up to Level 6 and leave them with Elise. Alternatively, you can drop them off to Born to Knit HQ at 42 Dight St, Collingwood.
More info on how to get your blankets to us is available from our website: http://www.savethechildren.org.au/sites/borntoknit/get-involved/
Hope this answers your questions, and happy knitting!

  3. Could you please confirm what your cut off date is for this year. I asked a few days ago but haven’t had an answer yet. Thanks
