Just another regular Friday in the Save the Children office. Postman arrives with 200 knitted squares.
That’s not normal.
Go the little knitters of Australia.

What a great idea. We would like to start knitting some squares for blankets. Can you please tell me where they will be sent when they are in blankets? Thanks
We can indeed Kate – once our blankets are all stitched up and ready to go, the majority of them will be sent to India. In India hypothermia is a serious issue for newborns. It leads to Pneumonia, which is the number one killer worldwide of children under 5. (Check out http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs331/en/ for more info on Pneumonia).
Your hand knitted squares will not only keep the babies snug but will also help new mums remember the importance of keeping their babies warm – so every stitch you do will make a difference!
Thanks for getting involved Kate.
