Celebrate World Wide Knitting in Public Day

From the 9th– 17th of June, World Wide Knitting in Public Day will be celebrated by knitters across the world. World Wide Knitting in Public Day promotes knitting as a social and community event- and we couldn’t agree more! Knitting can bring people together from all walks of life, and is a great way to spend time with friends.

So get out there and get knitting! If you’ve been knitting in public this week, send us a picture and share your story. We’d love to hear from you!

And don’t forget about blankets and squares if you stuck on ideas 😉

Just started knitting a square and I have done a few rows and measured my work which is nearly 26cms wide I am using 4mm needles and 8 ply wool. Should I decrease the number of stitches so the work will measure 20cms?
I knitted squares into blaktes last year and the year before but can not remember what i did…..any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks, Carrie

I saw the story in the Take 5 magazine (June 6) and I have started to knit some squares. Have done about 6 squares, hopefully will be able to do enough for a full blanket.

    • Hi Linda,
Glad to hear you read the article and felt inspired to take part in Born to Knit. Thanks for the 6 squares you have already completed, and we look forward to seeing your creations!
      Happy knitting!

  3. I’d like to put a button on my blog that identifies your blog as i have a few followers o are interested in knitting for you. It would be good to be able to automatically link them to you. Do you have one i could use?
