Knitting groups get on board with Born to Knit!

We are very happy to announce that more knitting groups are joining in the Born to Knit campaign.   These groups are already helping us grow the campaign and produce even more wonderful blankets.

    Would you consider posting a few patterns for fancier squares, like the ones shown in the photos? Or some links for them? I’ve been knitting mitred squares for the first time, and enjoying the variety, but those textured, stripy squares look fun, too!

    • Laura’s Mum the textured stripey ones above look like shadow knitting to me. They’re not my squares but if you look up shadow knitting you’ll find out more.

        Thanks kaiteM- I have found some nice shadow or illusion knitting patterns for squares, that have checks (rather than triangles) in them. They will be fun to knit and look great interspersed among the plain garter stitch squares that my daughter can do. A really nice effect without lots of ends to weave in, as you can get with wider stripes!

  3. Thank you Kaite for your help!! we got these beautiful blankets from a volunteer but unfortunately we don’t have the patterns.
