After more than three months, and support from countless volunteers and community groups from all across Australia, Born to Knit 2012 has come to a close.
This year, and with your help, we have made 4,844 knitted blankets for children in need programs across Australia and overseas. This is such a terrific result, and we could not have done this without all of your dedication and support.
In 2011 Born to Knit received 3,501 blankets, and to achieve an additional 1,343 blankets this year is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
We are in the process of finalising our blanket distribution with a number of overseas partners, so stay tuned to our blog to be notified once everything is confirmed. You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook to be kept updated with all our progress.
Due to popular demand, Born to Knit will also be back again in Winter 2013 – our fourth consecutive year.
Want to do more? Whilst Born to Knit 2012 has now closed, if you are interested in supporting Born to Knit during the summer months, we still need volunteers to help sew squares into blankets. Are you a community or craft group that can volunteer some time? Would you or your friends and family be able to assist us in turning squares into blankets? If so, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be required to collect squares from Born to Knit directly in Collingwood Victoria, as unfortunately we do not have the facilities to post these out to you.
THANK YOU from everyone at Born to Knit, and Happy Knitting!
