Born to Knit is in its Last Weeks!!

We’re coming into the last few weeks of Born to Knit for 2012, which is wrapping up on Friday 28th September 2012.

The postman has been kept very busy here at Born to Knit headquarters, with the arrival of your beautifully knitted squares and blankets arriving daily at our Collingwood office.

If you have not already done so, it is important to finish off your knitted blankets and squares and send them to us before the conclusion of the campaign.

Knitted squares and blankets can be dropped off or posted directly to Born to Knit HQ in Collingwood:

Thank you to our dedicated volunteers all over Australia who take the time to knit and sew blankets and squares for children in need, and supporting our Born to Knit campaign in 2012.

We look forward to receiving your wonderful donations.

    Hi there,

I’m a the Women’s Centre coordinator at the Tjuntjuntjara aboriginal community in WA. We are a very, very remote community! I am up to my last square of the blanket for refugee babies and have never sewed a blanket together before! I will finish it it time I think but am unsure whether it will get to you on time as the mail is really slow out here. Should I still send it to you?

    Cheers,

    Kirsten

    • Hi Kirsten

Thanks for your comment, and congratulations on almost finishing your blanket, That’s great. I’m sure you will do a very fine job sewing the blanket together too. Yes, please still send your blanket through, and we will be sure to include it in the 2012 tally for Born to Knit.

      Regards,
      The Born to Knit Team

  3. After putting a link on Facebook a friend and I have 20 women from all over Australia knitting squares. It has been exciting to receive their parcels. We are now busy putting squares together and expect to complete 10 – 12 blankets. A positive aspect of social networking.

    • Hi Judi,

i was just enquiring as to how many blankets you have done this year. last year i liked seeing the counter up in the top corner but cant seem to find it this year

    • My group of friends ended up making 16 blankets which we delivered to the St Agnes shop in SA on Thursday. Looking forward to being involved in 2013. I have now started a group on Facebook, called “Odd Balls for
Charity” to encourage people to knit, crochet and sew for their favourite charities.
